There's a nodetype called howto that's implemented by howto2.root. It's the only type that's defined in its own root, deliberately, because I want to preserve this mechanism. I want nodetypes to be defined by tools that live in the Guest Databases folder on the server.
To edit the format of howto nodes you check objects out using WebEdit.

Changed the left margin from 20% to 15%.
There was a white-space: nowrap; rule on h1 that would cause the headline to extend over the right margin. This was unsightly. Took it out.
Removed all margins and padding on h1, and added back padding-bottom 10px. Now the headline looks great.
Added a line-height of 130% to h1 to keep the second line from overwriting the first line when wrapping.
In howto2Suite.renderSubOutline, if t.headerFontSize doesn't end with px, add it.
