Icons in Blorkland

  • In today's podcast, we talked about the icons in Bootstrap 2.0.
  • I think they're potentially quite important, and we should try, if possible to use them in the user interface of Worldoutline, Radio2 and River2.
  • Thinking about how we now use icons, what icons do they have that we could use. If we can find good fits for them all I'm open to the idea of substituting them all, to help drive standardization.
  • The icons we use now include:
    • Radio2 home page
      • Blue wedge to expand/collapse.
      • New to clear all the elements of the post.
      • XML to link to the feed.
      • T to link to Twitter.
      • Page to edit.
      • Red X to delete
      • Screen shot.
    • Worldoutline roots page
      • Gear to edit prefs
      • Red X to delete
      • Page to edit
      • XML to view OPML
      • Screen shot.
    • Outlines in worldoutline
      • Blue wedge to expand/collapse
      • XML to view OPML.
      • Blue button that says Edit
    • Rivers
      • Icon to switch between compact and full view.
      • There's an icon in front of the name of every feed, it's derived from the favico of the site, I think. It's a service Google provides. Very nice source of color on an otherwise colorless page.
      • RT is really an icon.
      • An example of a river.
