However, I can't set it up so that it runs automatically because we have apps that subscribe to feeds that would be collected. Examples include feedHose.root and radioReallySimple.root.
So, you can run it manually if you're sure you're not running any of these apps on your machine. A new user would be very safe in doing this, for example.
To try it out:
1. Bring the OPML app to the front.
2. Choose Quick Script from the Misc menu.
3. Enter this script and press Enter.

4. If you look in your River2 log you should see the result. Something like
